| Ever since translating/interpreting for Walter Bonatti at the 1997 Banff Mountain Film Festival, I have wanted to do literary translation. I had the chance during my MFA program at The University of British Columbia with the guidance of Wayne Grady. | ||
| I have also translated some poetry: Birago Diop's Souffle and Nicole Brossard's vertige 1. | ||
| Italo Calvino's novella Il visconte dimezzato has captivated me since I was twenty years old. My translation, The Divided Viscount, will find its way to you once I find a publisher. Bonatti thanked me for "understanding the spirit behind my words". I hope that Calvino would be as pleased, were he still with us. | ||
